Description
In the beginning, God gave the universe three great kingdoms of living creatures: Angels, Humans, and Animals.
And only one family of the three has remained untouched by the wickedness of this world since the Sixth Day of Creation in Genesis—and it wasn’t angels or men.
This book is about God’s wonderful animals, whom God has given to the world as gifts, as companions, and sometimes as messengers. They are simple, beautiful, funny, and at times frightening, but they are always His servants.
In 13 short chapters you’ll get a variety of views into the wonder of the animal world.
- Birds, bees, fish, and insects get to tell their stories in these pages.
- It’s filled with insight into both mighty and lowly animals and what God wants us to know about their relevance to the world of humans.
- There are even talking animals and stories of origin that will astound you.
If these generalities are not enough to capture your interest, maybe the chapter about how the Giraffe got its name (Chapter 1) or the one about Tobit’s dog (Chapter 10) will get you reading!
Here’s an idea: Take the book with you on your daily routine.
You can read any given chapter while waiting in line at the post office or working out on the elliptical machine. But if people look at you strange because you’re chuckling or saying “Wow!” all the time, please don’t blame the messenger. God is the author of all this goodness, and sometimes it’s pretty amazing.
Animals are always fascinating to us, so take up this book and read. You’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the one kingdom of God’s creation that has never disappointed Him.
God’s Wonderful Animals is the second edition of the Sacred Stories series by Peter Darcy, and we hope you’ll enjoy every one of them.
